New Zealand Entrepreneur Work Visa
New Zealand promotes businesses to support their economy and that is why they have given an opportunity to foreign business investors that they can start their enterprise in the country by purchasing the existing one or by starting a new venture. The entrepreneur work visa allows you to start you own business with an investment of NZ $100,000 only, If your business plan got the approval then you can earn 120 points and this will help you in applying for New Zealand residency.
For the entrepreneur work visa there is no such requirement that you have to be living permanently in New Zealand. In this first phase, you will be granted a visa for 12 months also called the startup phase. After establishing your business in the second phase, you can apply for 24 months visa and in this; you can accompany your dependent with you.
Visa Conditions
For Entrepreneur work visa the applicant should comply following conditions:
Entry Permission
You need a permission of entry right after you arrive New Zealand and complete your arrival card. Your entry can be refused because of any of the following reason:
- Character requirements are not as per requirement
- Change in circumstances from when you were granted the visa
- If you fail to provide your photo, fingerprints or IRIS scan
Travel
With the support of this visa, you can have multiple entries in New Zealand
Work
Against this visa, you need to make sure that you work as an entrepreneur for yourself from the same office and business you mention in the application.
Contact Detail
You need to keep your contact detail updated so if there is any modification in it, same should be communicated to your visa officer for strong and flawless liaison.
Study
Against this visa, you are only allowed to study for 3 months in a 12-month period.
Exiting to Country
After the expiry of the visa, you need to exit the country.
Entrepreneur Work Visa requirements
This visa category is a sub-group of work visa, the only difference is under this visa the applicant is obliged to work for himself. New Zealand promotes self–employment and with this support of this, visa entrepreneurs can start their own business in New Zealand with a capital investment of NZ $100,000.

Principal Applicant Personal Detail
For applicant details, he need to present following two documents only:
- Birth Certificate
- Certificate of Identity
- Passport
It is always recommended that you should provide original passport so that your application procedure could be accelerated.
Partner’s Personal Detail
In case of partnership the partner also have to provide all the personal details and they also need to provide the evidence that they stable relationship and are living together. The reference guide INZ 1002 can be used to learn more about the requirements of partnership.
Children
In case of child a birth certificate is required clearly stating the name of both parents. In case of adoption, a full adoption order need to be presented, make sure that the documents should be in accordance of New Zealand adoption Act 1955.
Character Certificate
A police certificate is required showing the character of the applicant and testifying that concern has not been involved in any unlawful activities.
Health Certificate
The applicant and his family need to be good health if they want to apply for the visa and that is why a full general medical certificate along with full X-Ray report is required for medical clearance.
English Proficiency Test Requirement
For a the principal applicant who is applying for the visa it is mandatory that he should have basic English language skills although at this point, this doesn’t apply for partner or children. Although while applying for residency all applicants are required to meet the minimum English standard.
